Engaging with the community

Engaging with the community

We recognize our responsibility towards the community. For this reason, Vifor Pharma supports selected projects that result in improvements for our stakeholders and the communities in which we operate. We have identified two focus areas within the Responsibility pillar COMMUNITY.

Focus area: Social Engagement

We recognise that our company’s profile and capabilities enable us to contribute to the well-being of the communities we operate in. Therefore, we are committed to ‘giving back’ by supporting targeted charitable and philanthropic causes and providing meaningful financial or in-kind support.

Activities include:

  • Local community engagement: Vifor Pharma regularly supports selected local projects and programmes that result in improvements for the local communities in which we operate.
  • Disaster relief: Vifor Pharma may choose to provide ad-hoc support in emergency situations, such as natural disasters, especially when employees or local communities are directly affected. Support can include financial aid, medical supply, voluntary on-site work and capacity building.

Focus area: Science & Health Literacy

As a science-driven company, we have a large amount of scientific knowledge. We believe it is our responsibility to share this knowledge with our community. At the same time, we aim to encourage science and a better understanding of health in society.

Measures include:

  • Science and Innovation: Vifor Pharma supports initiatives that promote science and increase the understanding of health-related topics.
  • Providing health knowledge: To share the internal scientific knowledge with the community Vifor Pharma supports a number of publically available information platforms on certain health topics, offering the general public a range of scientific educational resources in lay language.
